Jua Kali – Milebuilder – UK-Las Palmas – Hello Las Palmas!
Milebuilder: UK-Las Palmas – Hello Las Palmas.
We have arrived at our final destination before the start of the ARC and it’s BUSY!
Having left the UK 23 days again we have managed 2040 miles and 18 days on the water. The last section from Lanzarote was a short one at 18hrs but we pretty much sailed the whole way making great time and arriving a few hours earlier than expected. It was a steady 6 knots with sunshine and a full moon.
Lanzarote was only a short stop of two days and we managed to get a few little jobs done with Marcus learning some sail repair techniques and fixing a small patch on our jib.
It seems little a long time ago since we slipped lines in Cowes and headed into the Solent. It’s been a great delivery with equally lovely people. Thanks go out to Lloyd, Brad, Ingrid, Leon, O, Marcus, Jenn, Masha, Roman and Joe.
With a few days rest, it’s full steam ahead with preparations for the ARC and meeting the new crew. Deep cleaning, maintenance, repairs and general jobs are in full swing. The marina is busy with lots of yachts arriving and this makes for a good atmosphere especially in the local sailors bar!!
We all managed to watch the start of the ARC plus on Sunday 5th August, which was great to see and definitely started the countdown to the ARC on the 19th November.
