The program starts in January in the Caribbean and is a full time commitment. You will be living onboard one of our fleet of yachts for most of the time and gaining experience working within our organisation. You be racing our yachts in some fabulous famous regattas such as Antigua Sailing Week, the Heineken regatta and Les Voiles de St Barths. You may also be part of the shore side support team for events where a yacht has been chartered which involves corporate hospitality and event organisation.
Part One – Starts in January and you will complete a month of RYA Training featuring the RYA Yachtmaster Theory course and several tickets required for the Yachtmaster exam including Sea Survival, First Aid and VHF DSC. The Caribbean Racing season kicks off in February and you will experience hands on yacht prep and maintenance getting the yachts ready for the busy regatta season ahead. Then its in to the action as we take part in the RORC 600 offshore, Heineken Regatta and many more fantastic Caribbean race events culminating in Antigua Sailing Week.
Part Two – Takes place back in the UK in June with a two week Yachtmaster prep course followed by the RYA Yachtmaster exam.
Travel and accommodation – During the programme you will live onboard one of our vessels. Whilst in the Caribbean we include a few weeks ashore in a villa in the Antiguan resort of Jolly Harbour. At the end of Antigua sailing week you will need to arrange a return flight from Antigua to the UK ready for the second part of the programme.
