About Yacht ‘Sonrisa’:
Sonrisa is a US registered X-Yacht, XP44 launched in September 2016 and in excellent condition as she is maintained by a full-time experienced Skipper; Marcus Cholerton-Brown. Marcus is a former Challenge and Clipper skipper and has competed in many races in the UK and US with notable success.

About the Bermuda Race event:
The 2019 Antigua Bermuda Race will be the third edition of the 935 nautical mile race across the Atlantic Ocean to Bermuda. Organised by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in association with Antigua Sailing Week, the 2019 Antigua Bermuda Race will start on May 8; five days after the 52nd edition of Antigua Sailing Week. There will be a crew party for all participants the day before departure and a Prize Giving at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club on May 16, 2019.
The 2019 Antigua Bermuda race has been selected for the 2019 Atlantic Ocean Racing Series which will consist of five races: RORC Caribbean 600, Antigua Bermuda Race, Transatlantic Race 2019, Rolex Fastnet Race, and Rolex Middle Sea Race.
Start off Fort Charlotte Antigua Wednesday May 8. 2019

Finish off St David’s Light, Bermuda.

Details of Bermuda to Newport, R.I. Passage
You will be expected to take a full role as a crew member within a watch system. You will therefore be involved in all aspects of sailing the boat; including duties both below and above deck.
Highlights include: sailing in a variety in weather conditions, including some heavy weather, sailing in a watch system, opportunities to practise celestial navigation skills, amazing seascapes and sunrises, fabulous opportunities to experience marine life close-up with a warm and wonderful welcome in Newport, R.I.
