ARC 2018 – ‘Quokka’

Hi All

Blog entry by Chris Fox

After arrival in Las Palmas, the crew arrived over a few days and proceeded to spend several evenings testing local bars and restaurants and getting settled with one another. We all get along which is a massive bonus. Let me summarise the crew….

Gareth the captain, very experienced round world sailor who runs the whole voyage with edgy humour but pushes everyone to achieve their best. Quality captain.

Sam the ever relaxed first mate who helps us all.

Tom the energetic and slightly bonkers 18 year old yacht master trainee but a good sailor and fun to have around.

Kasia the other trainee, an ever moving, always enthusiastic and ambitious Polish Lady

Jens the cool, smooth German

Lasse and Elen the gentle but funny Finnish / Dutch couple who have not enjoyed the heat.

That just leaves me, an English sailor enjoying the sun, the ever rolling boat and learning how not to Broach the boat when helming.

This is a long time to be on a boat, so my input is that we are having a great trip due to the wonderful mix above.

How Lucky…..

Best regards
