ARC 2018 – Day 2 – ‘Quokka’ Blog
Day 2 on Quokka 8 was smooth and pleasant – still getting into the groove in every way. We were sailing in light wind hoping that it will pick up and give us some nice kick but it didn’t (which saved our stomachs from unpleasant sensations I guess). There was another racing boat on the horizon, and a few ones on our port and starboard sides. Spinnaker flied high and it has been impatiently looking for the trade winds! And so have we!
Gareth has probably upset Poseidon because there has been no luck with fishing so far (Andras on EH01 is probably winning the bet) only those promises of tuna and rice for dinner😊
We are improving in hot bunking and no one is smelly yet! I am tenaciously trying to keep my GF diet with a cheer from the crew.
Still cannot believe that we are crossing the ocean – a sweet pot of European nations (British, Finish, Dutch, German and Polish) on a tiny white shell.
Kisses to all my friends&family who are tracking our progress.
